About CCatalog

Zittergie's Coin Catalog is a free Coin Catalog & Coin Collection Manager.

Version 0.85.1

Linux versionPosted by zittergie Wed, June 30, 2010 22:09:50
Hi,

Linux version just got a decent update:

- GTK2 (Gnome) Coin Info Dialog now accepts the first click
- Coin Info Dialog shows Krause Nr if available (Not yet used in the catalog, but supported)
- Import from tellico (Please report on this)
- Beautified the Collection Browser (Nicer, more info, left/bottom view, pictures)
- 5 Custom fields (names of the custom fields cannot not be changed yet, next version)
- Faster startup
- Choosing 'ALL' in the collection should work better
- VARIA field width is now also saved
- Possible to duplicate a coin
- When editing a coin, when catalog is available, changing the quality now changes the value
- Probably some things I forgot

Known Issues:

Editing coins imported from Tellico doesn't work yet. (Work around 0.85.2)
- The problem is in the grading. I will change the grading system in one of the upcoming versions.

Windows versions will soon follow - Untested

Please report ...

Problems running the QT4 version ...

Linux versionPosted by zittergie Sat, June 19, 2010 21:15:53
Hi,

If you recently installed the new Be-ID application (This is an application by the Belgian Government for reading your ID-Card), I think at first you were glad that something from the Belgian government installed so easy under Linux and works like a charm.
But !!!! You may have noticed that since then, some QT-Related application don't work anymore (Including your BELOVED CCatalog app :) )

There is an easy solution to solve this:

just open a terminal (xterm, konsole, terminal) and typ:

>sudo rm /usr/local/lib/beidqt/libQtGui.so.4
>sudo rm /usr/local/lib/beidqt/libQtCore.so.4
>sudo ldconfig

Everything should work again, and the beauty of it all, so does Be-ID.

Portugese language added

CommonPosted by zittergie Sat, June 19, 2010 21:02:22
CoinCatalog now speaks portugese too, thanks to Grégoire Jean-François Demets.
Just fire the update button to include this language.

More Pictures have been added to the Belgian CoinCatalog thanks to Aernout (see him @ http://munthunter.forum2go.nl/)

There is still an error in downloading the Quality translating.
If you are using Linux, you can just delete the Portugese language files, and press update a second time. This time the updated application will download all the language files needed)

Fix for MAC and Windows is coming soon.

Support for adding your own language will become easier in one of next updates.

Further changes coming soon are:

- Coin Sets, Saving a part of your collection to a new collection, Merge/Split Collections.
- I am also looking on how to support to put your collections online for making exchanging coins possible.
- HTML export for collections
- Overview of Pictures used in the Catalog
- Overview of your own added pictures

- Completion of the British Coin Catalog
- Starting French Coin Catalog
- Adding more pictures
